Single Projection

Single projection means the classroom has one projector and one projectable surface. This may be a manual pull-down screen, a powered screen, or a writeable projection surface. The projection can typically come from several sources in the room, including a laptop you bring with you. What is projected is controlled by a touch panel in the classroom. Check for classroom computers and podium connection types.

Dual Projection

Dual projection means the classroom has two projectors and projectable surfaces. These may be a manual pull-down screen, a powered screen, or a writeable projection surface.  The projection can typically come from several sources in the room, including a laptop you bring with you. What is projected is controlled by a touch panel in the classroom, and each projector and screen can show the same image or can show different images. Check for classroom computers and podium connection types.

Multi-Media Carts (MMCs)

Multi-Media Carts were introduced during the pandemic and a few are now permanent fixtures in classrooms.  They consist of a Polycom (which is a wide-angle camera, area microphone, and speaker), a large screen, and are mounted on a stand.  They can be plugged into a laptop or classroom computer to allow for hybrid participation.

NOTE: MMCs are considered permanent technology in the following classrooms. Please do not move them
If you need MMC capabilities, please work with the Registrar or Events & Scheduling to book a room with an MMC, or check out a Portable Polycom Kit from the library.

Document Cameras (IPEVO, Other)

Document cameras allow you to capture live video of physical documents or other objects, and project them to the screen in the classroom.  The IPEVO document cameras are small green cameras that use the desktop surface as the background for the documents, and the other document cameras have a larger base and camera head.  Both types provide similar functionality.
