Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for reinstatement of employees who separate and subsequently return to the College within one year of separation. This policy is only intended to provide adjusted service credit for purposes of calculating eligibility for College benefits.
All former regular employees who worked more than 1,000 hours per year shall be eligible.
The provisions of this policy apply only to employees who return to the College within one year of their termination date. The length of time between the termination date and the date of reinstatement must be less than the period of prior service in order to be eligible.
Reinstated employees will be granted an adjusted service date reflecting their original date of hire adjusted by their period of absence, rounded to the nearest full month (i.e. from the first to the fifteenth (15th), the employee will be credited the full month, from the sixteenth (16th) to the end of the month, service date will be calculated beginning the following month).
