Bereavement Leave for Staff

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to define the steps to be taken in order to take time off with and without pay in the event of the death of a family member.

This policy applies to all staff who are scheduled to work at least 1,000 hours. For the purposes of this policy, immediate family members, in-laws and step family members of the employee are defined as follows: spouse, parents, grandparents, son, daughter, sister, brother and grandchildren.
