Technology Tools Available for Faculty and Staff

Microsoft 365 Applications

Rollins has a site license for Microsoft 365, which includes tools for communication, collaboration, storage, and productivity.

Office 365 Applications of Note: 

  • Teams – For meetings, chat, and collaboration. See our Teams Guide for more information
  • OneDrive – Cloud storage with 5TB of storage to access your files from any device.
  • Outlook – Campus email and calendar service. More information about Outlook's capabilities can be found in our Knowledge Base articles 
  • OneNote - Acts as a digital notebook with sections and labeled pages, stored in the cloud.
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Core productivity tools for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations

How to access:

  • Via Okta: Log in to Okta, click Office 365 Mail, then use the waffle grid in the top left to access all apps.
  • Installation: Download Microsoft apps to your device

Adobe Tools 

Rollins provides members of the campus community with access to the Adobe Creative Cloud. 

Adobe Applications of Note: 

  • Photoshop -  Edit images, create graphics, and design digital artwork
  • InDesign - Design and format documents for print and digital publishing
  • Premiere and Premiere Rush - Video editing capabilities for advanced tools or quick editing
  • Adobe Express - Create simple graphics, videos, and documents using templates.​​​​​​

Artificial Intelligence

Rollins college has campus wide access to various Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) models that you can use with Enterprise Data protection. 

Applications of Note:

  • Copilot Chat - Large Language Model, that acts as a conversational Artificial Intelligence. It is accessible only through the standalone chat functionality.
  • Adobe Firefly - Image Generator through Adobe. It can be utilized within may of the creative cloud applications, or as a standalone image generator. 

How to access:

  • Via Okta: Log in to Okta, Click on Microsoft Copilot or Adobe Firefly
  • Copilot from your Browser: Navigate to copilot.microsoft.com, login with your Rollins Credentials and ensure you have the green shield in the upper right hand corner

Canvas

Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) for Rollins. Primarily, it is utilized for academic courses, but can also be used for committees, and training.

Tools of Note within Canvas:

  • Perusall - Online social annotation platform for annotating text documents, web pages, videos, podcasts, books and images. You can learn more about Persuall in our Perusall Guide. To connect Perusall into your Canvas course, contact the Helpdesk.
  • Turnitin - Utilized in Canvas assignments to check the originality of writing. More information can be found in our Turnitin Assignments Guide.
  • Microsoft 365 - Connect your OneDrive and Canvas to easily upload course content, or utilize common Microsoft applications within assignments.

Kaltura

Kaltura is an all-in-one video tool that allows you to upload, store, create, share and trim videos that can easily be embedded and viewable within Canvas.

Kaltura Personal Capture is a connected tool that allows you to create screen and/or webcam recordings, or audio only files and will automatically store them within the Kaltura Media Space.

Research and Survey Tools

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is a survey tool that allows you to create and distribute surveys, and collect data.

NVivo

NVivo is a software that supports qualitative and mixed methods research that is only available to Faculty and Students.

SPSS is a collection of software utilized in logical batched and non-batched statistical analysis.

SAS/JMP

SAS/JMP is a statistical analysis tool for data visualization and data modeling features.

How to access:

  • Via HelpDesk: Faculty with a Rollins Computer may install SAS/JMP on their machine by contacting the Helpdesk and making an appointment to install on their device in-person
  • Via Computer Lab: Certain computer labs on campus will provide access to SAS/JMP

Hardware available to Faculty and Staff

Equipment and hardware, like Video cameras, iPad accessories, audio equipment and more may be checked out at the Olin Library Circulation Desk - restrictions may apply.

If your Rollins provided machine is lost, broken, or stolen, please contact the Helpdesk right away.
