How to set up Okta Verify on a new device

Important

If you get a new phone, you will need to reconfigure your MFA authentication through Okta. If you have SMS authentication set up on your account, you can follow the steps below. If you do not have SMS authentication set up, please contact the Help Desk (407-628-6363) for assistance. 

Instructions

  1. Log in to your Okta account
  2. Click on your name in the top right corner of the browser
  3. Click on Settings from the drop-down
  4. Click Edit Profile (Note: If you don't see the Edit Profile button, please continue to Step 9)
  5. You will be prompted to type in your password
  6. Click on the arrow next to the Okta logo and select SMS authentication
  7. Click Send Code
  8. Enter the code you receive and click Verify
  9. Click Remove next to Okta Verify
  10. Click Yes
  11. Click Set up next to Okta Verify
  12. Click Setup
  13. Choose if you have an iPhone or Android then click Next
  14. Go to the app store on your mobile device
  15. Download the Okta Verify app:
    1. **NOTE: There is also an app called Okta Mobile, you will want to download the Okta Verify app for MFA
  16. Open the app once it has downloaded
  17. Click Add Account
  18. Click Continue to give the Okta app access to the camera and notifications
  19. Scan the bar code on your computer browser using your phone
  20. Your Okta Verify enrollment is completed once you see a group of numbers displayed
    1. **NOTE: The number displayed is a time-based token that can be used instead of a push - it will change once the teal loading bar at the top of the screen fills (about every 30 seconds):
