Canvas: Turnitin Assignments- Commenting in SpeedGrader and Accessing Similarity Report

After you create a Turnitin assignment in Canvas, you can access SpeedGrader to view the Similarity Report or to grade, annotate, and comment on student submissions.

Directions

Access SpeedGrader

  1. In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link
     
  2. Click on the name of the assignment
     
  3. Click on the link to SpeedGrader in the sidebar menu
    * Note: on smaller screens, this button may appear at the bottom instead of the side

View the Similarity Report 

  1. In the right-hand panel in SpeedGrader, the similarity score (%) will be located next to the submitted file name

  2. Click on the similarity score to open the Similarity Report in a new window

Commenting in SpeedGrader

  1. The annotation tools are located above the student’s submission in SpeedGrader

View the Similarity Report 

  • Step 1: In the right-hand panel in SpeedGrader, the similarity score (%) will be located next to the submitted file name.

  • Step 2: Click on the similarity score to access the Similarity Report
    1. This will open in a new Turnitin window

Commenting in SpeedGrader

Using the Canvas Plagiarism Framework allows you to comment on and annotate student papers in SpeedGrader inside Canvas instead of navigating out to Turnitin’s annotation tools.
