WordPress: Add a Link

First Method

1. Open your post in WordPress to edit, or create a new post.
   
   
    
2. Click on Insert/edit Link on the tool bar of the body post.
   
   
    
3. Copy-and-paste the website link into URL box.
   
   
    
4. Click on Link Options on the right of the link box.
   
   
    
5. Enter the name of the link in Link Text.
   
   
    
6. Make sure to check Open link in a new tab. 
   
   
    
7. Click Update.
   
   
    
8. Your link will appear underline on your text post. 
   
   
    

Tip: Create links that provide context for readers, not just “click here.”
 

SECOND METHOD

1. Highlight the text that you would like to make a link.
   
   
    
2. Click on Insert/edit Link on the tool bar of the body post.
   
   
    
3. Copy-and-paste the website link into URL box.
   
   
    
4. Click on Link Options on the right of the link box.
   
   
    
5. Link Text will already be filled in with the text that you have highlighted.
   
   
    
6. Make sure to check Open link in a new tab. 
   
   
    
7. Click Update.
   
   
    
8. Your link will appear underline on your text post.
