These steps should help you connect your Windows PC or Mac to a Smartboard.

Connecting Your Windows PC to the Smartboard

  1. Connect Cables:

    • To display your screen on the Smartboard: Plug the HDMI or USB-C cable from the Smartboard into your Windows PC.

    • (Optional) For touch functionality: Connect the USB cable from the Smartboard to your PC.

  2. Select Input Source:

    • On the Smartboard, select the input source (HDMI/USB-C) that matches your connection.
  3. Adjust Display Settings:

    • On your Windows PC, go to Settings > System > Display.
    • Select Duplicate or Extend display as needed.
  4. Calibrate Touch:

    • The Smartboard software will pop up on your PC.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the touch functionality.

 

Connecting Your Mac to a Smartboard

  1. Connect Cables:

    • Plug the USB-C cable from the Smartboard into your Mac (this will give you both touch functionality and display your screen).
  2. Select Input Source:

    • On the Smartboard, select the input source (USB-C) that matches your connection.
  3. Adjust Display Settings:

    • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Displays.
    • Select Mirror Displays or Use as Separate Display as needed.
  4. Calibrate Touch:

    • The Smartboard software will pop up on your Mac.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the touch functionality.
