Ever wonder what evidence-based pedagogy is?  Do you use it in your classroom without naming it?  Or would you like to use it and be able to talk about it as we define what excellent teaching looks like on our campus?  Join Jenny Queen and Brooklynn Lehner for a virtual, communal reading experience of Powerful Teaching: Unleash the Science of Learning by Pooja Agarwal and Patrice Bain. What can you expect? 

• Learn about evidence-based pedagogy and how to use it to increase student learning
• Gain experience with a new collaboration tool (called Perusall) that you can use in your classes
• Receive an electronic copy of the book Powerful Teaching to read in Perusall
• Discussion and collaboration with colleagues -- both synchronously and asynchronously

When is it?

We'll have 4 meetings, three of which will be virtual via Teams. Please join the book club even if you have to miss some meetings! 

• May 12, 12noon - 1 pm: Face-to-face meeting and introduction. Lunch is included, location TBD
• June 1,  11 am - 12 pm Teams meeting
• June 22, 11 am - 12 pm Teams meeting
• July 13, 11 am - 12 pm Teams meeting
