ScreenCloud FAQs

List of Questions:

What vendor do we use?

We will be moving away from Visix, and our digital signage displays will now be powered by ScreenCloud.

Who pays for this?

IT will cover the cost of the ScreenCloud box and licenses, departments will cover the cost of any additional hardware such as TV screens and mounts.

Who manages this?

This will be managed and maintained by an approved content manager in your department.

Who can display content?

There are three levels of content managers, who can all display content:

  • Local content manager: Adds content for a single or small groups of screens
  • Internal Communications: Adds campus-wide content
  • Campus Safety: Displays content in the event of an emergency

Difference between playlist and channel?

A playlist is a collection of media arranged in a slide show, while a channel is a collection of playlists. You can think of a channel just like a TV channel, where a playlist would be the shows and commercials playing on that TV channel. For more information, please see the “What is the best way to manage my content?” article.
