This article is about how to disable High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) on an AMD driver with windows 10 or 11. This is usually done to fix issues with using an external display like a monitor or projector. You will only see these options when connected to an external display.

Right-click on your desktop, and select AMD Raedon Software, which opens a new window.
(Note: For older AMD software, right-click on your desktop, choose -> Share more options -> then select AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, which opens a new window.)

In the AMD Software window, click the Settings button, represented by a gear symbol, in the top right side of the window.

In the settings window, select the Display tab at the top of the window.

Select the display of the projector or external monitor

Select Overrides from the options given

If you cannot locate it, you type “Overrides” in the search bar on the top right side of the window

If it’s your first time accessing these settings, you’ll see a notification describing the terms and conditions with regards to changing the settings. Click Accept.

Switch the toggle button off to disable HDCP support.

A warning message window will pop up. Select Proceed.

In order to apply these changes, you have to restart your computer. Click Restart now.
