PowerPoint Live in Teams allows a meeting organizer to present their slide deck to meeting attendees.
A presenter can:
- view and move through the slides
- show a laser pointer
- use drawing tools
Meeting participants can:
- select additional viewing options during the presentation
1. Select Share content from the meeting controls.
2. In the PowerPoint section, select the file you want open.
Or select Browse (OneDrive/my computer) to find a file that isn’t listed.
Once you have selected your slide deck, PowerPoint Live will prepare the slides for viewing.
PowerPoint Live is now displaying the slide deck with notes for everyone to view. By default, the Presenter View is displayed, but hidden for small screen devices.
1. Select More actions …
2. Then select Hide presenter view.
Presenters can focus viewer attention with a laser pointer. Only the presenter can point and draw on the slides.
1. To begin, select the Laser pointer tool to make temporary marks on the current slide.
2. To create a short line simply move the mouse around. To create a longer line, press and hold the mouse button as you draw.
3. To stop using the Laser pointer, select the cursor (or press the Esc key on the keyboard).
Highlight content on the screen with the drawing tools. These markings will last throughout the meeting.
1. Select one of the drawing tools (pen, highlighter, eraser).
2. Press and hold the mouse button as you draw.
3. To stop drawing, select the cursor (or press the Esc key on the keyboard).
1. To erase a single mark, select the eraser and then a mark or drawing.
2. To erase all the marks, select Eraser again, then select Erase all ink on slide.
By default, meeting participants have the following view options. None of these choices affect anyone else's view.
- View the current slide
- Use the navigation arrows to move around to different slides.
- Choose from a grid view of all the slides in the presentation by selecting Go to slide
- Sync their view back to the presenter view, select Sync to Presenter
If a presenter does not want viewers to independently navigate through a PowerPoint file, select Private view.
1. Click Private view at the top to prevent participants from navigating slides on their own.
You can use PowerPoint Live to translate the onscreen text.
To translate a slide
1. Click on More actions …
2. Select Translate slides, then select a language to translate to.
Text within the slide will be translated to the chosen language.
Stop Sharing
1. To stop sharing, press the Stop sharing button.
