Alterations and Improvements

Learn more about alterations and improvement and how to request them.

Description of Service

Alterations and improvements are substantial modifications or improvements to our facilities that require greater communication, planning, and budgetary consideration. These will often require permitting through appropriate regulatory agencies. Typical examples may include a classroom or office rehab and adding or removing a wall, door, or piece of programmatic equipment. Painting for enhancement rather than routine maintenance is an A&I request.

How To Make a Request

All requests for alterations or improvements must be submitted by a Dean or Director level. A written description of the desired improvements should be emailed to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Services, Jeremy Williamson, jwilliamson@rollins.edu. Please include all relevant details including scheduling requirements, specific location, and detailed description.

Facilities will make arrangements for a site review with the requester or person most familiar with the request in order to discuss issues and options. Facilities Services will update the written scope complete with a cost estimate based on their understandings of the request. Documentation will be returned to the requester to confirm understanding of the final scope. Approval of the final proposal, complete with a funding source, must be obtained from requesting Dean or Director, Facilities Services, and Vice President & Treasurer.
