Quiz Settings

Shuffle Questions
Quiz questions display in the order you designate, unless you  shuffle the order of the questions displayed to students. Item Bank questions that have been added in a group will continue to be randomized within that group whether Shuffle Questions is enabled or disabled.

Shuffle Answers
You can shuffle the order of quiz answers for multiple choice, multiple answer, and matching quiz questions. Shuffling answers does not guarantee the order is displayed differently to every student. Some students will receive the same answer order, depending on the number of answers for each question.

Display One Question at a Time
To avoid accidentally scrolling past a question, you can set the  quiz to display only one question at a time. It is also recommended that you Allow Backtracking to a previous quiz question. Allow Backtracking is enabled by default.

Require a Student Access Code
If restricted access is needed, set Require student access code, and set a Password for the quiz. To view a masked access code, click the Show access code checkbox and verify the password was entered correctly.

Time Limit
If a quiz time limit is needed, then enable the Time limit and set the Hours and Minutes. Note: In progress quizzes automatically submit when the Availability date and time passes, even if there is time remaining.

Filter IP Address
Setting an IP Address filter is a way to limit access to quizzes to computers in a specified IP range. Example 172.21.89.1 or 172.21.89.120/255.255.252.0. Students would complete the quiz in a testing-center or lab room.

Allow Calculator
Enable an on-screen calculator for the entire quiz. Select either the Basic or Scientific calculator. Note: The Basic calculator only displays numbers and basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide). The Scientific calculator displays more options for advanced calculations.

Allow Multiple Attempts
When you allow multiple attempts for a quiz, you can designate what score to keep: Highest, Average, Latest or First score. The number of allowed attempts is set to Unlimited by default. Note: The Late Submission Policy is not supported when using multiple attempts in New Quizzes. If a waiting period between attempts is needed, set the time in Days, Hours, or Minutes before a new attempt can begin.

Restrict Student Result View
You can set which results are visible to students, including points awarded, points possible, questions, responses, and feedback. Note: Restricting student from viewing their results in New Quizzes does not apply to viewing scores in the Gradebook. To restrict students from viewing scores in the Gradebook, you will need to enable a posting policy or hide grades that were previously posted.
