Kaltura: Clip or Trim a Video

You can use the Kaltura video editor to

• Trim the beginning of a video
• Trim the end of a video
• divide a video into smaller parts 

Note: If you are using Safari, you need to change your cookies settings in order for the tool to load properly. 

1. Access Kaltura My Media. 
    
2. In the My Media area, click on the title of the video you want to edit.
   
   
   
    
3. Underneath the video player, click the Actions menu on the right.
   
   
    
4. Click Launch Editor.
   
   
   
    
5. Select Video Editor from the vertical menu on the left of the screen
   
   
    
6. To adjust how many frames per second are displayed, use the timeline zoom slider
   
   
    
7. To trim the beginning of the video: Click and drag the yellow sidebar on the left until you find the point in the video where you want the clip to start.
   
           
   
   To trim the end of the video: Click and drag the yellow sidebar on the right until you find the point in the video where you want the clip to end.
      
   
           
8. Click Save a Copy to create your clip as a new video. (Clicking Save will change the original video.) 
   
   
   
9. Type in a Name for the clip, and click Create when finished.
   
   
    
10. You will see a message confirming that your clip was created and can be found in your My Media.
