FAQs about Teams Phone
Why do I need to go to the calls section of Teams to call a colleague?
To make sure the call reaches your colleague’s physical desk phone—especially if they don’t use Teams regularly—you’ll need to place the call from the Calls section in Teams instead of from chat.
What happens if I call a colleague from the chat?
This initiates a Teams call, which can only be received by users who have the Teams app installed on their device.
FAQs about handsets
Why doesn't my voicemail button work on my physical phone?
Because of how the system is set up, you’ll access your voicemails through Teams or your email — not directly from your desk phone.
I put my phone on DND, why is it still ringing?
Do Not Disturb (DND) is turned off on Yealink phones, so calls will still ring through. If you don’t want to hear the ringtone, you can turn the volume all the way down.
Why do I see my extension twice?
You will see your extension listed twice because it’s set up to let you take a second call even if you're already on another one. This ensures you don’t miss important calls while you're busy.
