Proactive upgrade to Windows 11

Before you start

• Back up any files stored on your hard drive (e.g., desktop, documents, downloads).  These KBs can help you setup OneDrive:  INSTALL & SETUP
• Save all open documents/files and close any applications. Once the upgrade starts, it will force reboot your computer several times.
• The upgrade time can take 1- 2 hours to complete. We recommend that you start the process at the of the day and lock your computer. 
• If you run into any errors or have any questions, please contact the Help Desk for assistance.

Instructions

1. Open Software Center 
   1. Click the Windows button in the task bar
   2. Type Software Center
   3. Click Software Center
      
      
       
2. Click Operating Systems on the left then click Rollins Windows 11 Upgrade
   
   
    
3. Click Install
   
   
    
4. Click Install
   
   
    
5. The Windows 11 installation process has begun.  At this point, please securely lock your screen by using the windows + L keyboard shortcut to lock your computer. The process will continue while your screen is locked and reboot on its own. DO NOT turn off the computer, or close the lid.
    
6. After the computer has rebooted several times, and returns to the Windows login prompt, the process is complete.
