Canvas: Record with Kaltura Express Capture from the Rich Content Editor

Notes

• The Express Capture feature will only with Chrome or Firefox.
• Kaltura Express Capture can be used anywhere there is a Rich Content Editor box, including a Page, Discussion, and Assignment. 
• If you are submitting this as a Canvas assignment, you will need to use the Rich Content Editor in the text submission box. If you do not see the text submission box, please let your instructor know. 

Directions

1. Within the Rich Content Editor, click on the Embed Kaltura Media icon.
   
   
   
   Note: If the icon is not visible on the strip, click the three dots at the end of the strip.
   
   
   
   Then click on the Embed Kaltura Media icon in the extended menu.
   
   
    
2. A pop up will appear. Select Record from Webcam.
   
   
   
   
3. If a pop-up appears requesting permission to access the camera, click Allow
   Note: If you receive a "Failed to allocate resources" error, it is likely because the browser is blocking the camera. You will need to give the browser permission to access the camera. 
   
   
    
4. Click the red circle button to start recording.
    
5. Click the stop button to stop recording.
    
6. Click Use This to upload the recording.
   
   
    
7. Wait for the recording to upload.
    
8. Click Embed located in the top-right.
   
   
    
9. The recording will be embedded in the text box.
   Note: You may need to wait for it to finish processing for it to appear.
