Blackboard: Export Course Files

Part 1: Export and Download Course Files

  1. Log into Blackboard* and navigate to your course that contains the content you would like to export.
  2. Under Course Management, click on Files.

  3. Click on the name of the course to see a list of all files.

  4. Click the check box next to the files you would like to select or you can click in the check box to the left of File Type to select all.
Note: If you have a lot of files, you may need to do this process multiple times, but select smaller files as there is an export limit in Blackboard. Make sure you do not select the zip file with "Export" in the file name.

  5. Once you've made your selection(s), click on Download Package.

  6. If successful, the package will be available to view in your web browser.
Note: Unless the default was changed, the package should be downloaded to your computer's Downloads folder.

Part 2:  Optional - Save Exported Course Files on OneDrive

As a best practice, we recommend that you save your Blackboard course export files in cloud storage (e.g., OneDrive or Dropbox) to ensure that you have access to these files from any computer. Directions for saving the course export files in OneDrive are provided below.

  1. Go to the location where the course export .zip files were saved on your computer.
  2. Log into OneDrive.
