Chat Settings
Model
You can choose which model to interact with within the chat or conversation. While you can change the model after a conversation has started, previous messages within the chat may not be utilized by the new model.
More detailed information on the capabilities of the individual AI models available can be found in {{Model Capabilities}}
Custom Instructions
If you have built prompt templates, or created any Assistants within Amplify GenAI, you can select one to start the conversation.
More detailed information is available on {{Prompt Templates}}, and {{Assistants}}.
Temperature
The “temperature” of the chat will tell you how random the generated output might be. Higher temperature values are “Creative” and will make the output more unpredictable, and willing to generate more diverse and less predictable text – and thus more prone to inaccurate or unintelligible information. Lower temperature values are “Precise” and will require the model to generate an output that is more focused, deterministic, and predictable – making it more like the training data.
Response Length
Values range from 0 to 6 and will determine the allowable response length for prompt outputs from the chosen model. Shorter response lengths create more concise and focused answers quickly, while longer response lengths provide more comprehensive and detailed explanations.
Chat Box

You can access previously uploaded files, upload files, and swap between assistants and prompt templates as needed for your conversation from the message box.
Access Previously Uploaded Files
Upload new files for the AI Model to interact with
Select Assistants to utilize within the conversation
- When an assistant is in use, the conversation will show a label for the Assistant, which can be closed through the x on the left of the name, or by swapping assistants.

Chats and Conversations
New chats can be created through the “+ New Chat” button in the left side panel.
Conversations in your history can be renamed, as can drop down menus but clicking on the pencil icon next to the name, typing in the new desired name, then clicking on the check mark to save the new name.
Conversations across several days that should be categorized together can be placed in folders, which can be made by selecting the Add Folder button next to New Chats. A drop down pop-up will appear for you to enter your new folder name, and selecting Ok. Conversations can be dragged into the folder to organize by content, ideas and more.
Sharing between Users
Note: Conversations, Assistants, Workspaces, etc can only be shared with other Amplify GenAI Users at Rollins, and cannot be shared external to Rollins users.
In the top left select the Sharing Tab to see content that has been shared with you, or begin sharing content with other Rollins Amplify GenAI Users.
To content, select “Share with Other Users” and a pop-up window will appear for you to select individual conversations, folders, templates, assistants and more with other users in the Rollins community.
You will be required to enter not only the full email address of the intended recipient but also add a note to them, and then select, via checkbox, what content you are sharing.
Workspaces
Workspaces was initially intended to allow colleagues working on similar projects to collaborate on artifacts within chats, and seamlessly share chats between peers. This feature is currently not operating as intended as it will soon be replaced.
You can create workspaces for your own personal organization, and continue to share conversations, artifacts, etc with your peers who have access to Amplify GenAI, but cross collaboration as intended in Workspaces is currently not functional.
Prompt Templates and Assistants
Custom Instructions are specific guidelines or commands provided by users to tailor the model's output to their specific needs. Instructions can require a specific tone, style or content to better tailor model outputs to your specific needs
Prompt Templates are pre-written prompts with placeholders. They can have specific custom instructions attached to them, further tailoring the conversation.
Amplify Helpers are prompt templates and custom instructions that the Amplify development team deems “helpful” to Amplify users.
