How to repair the search feature in Outlook for Mac


When using the search feature in Outlook for Mac either returns no results or older items only. 


  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Select Spotlight
  3. Click on the Privacy tab
  4. Open Finder
  5. Click on Go then select Go to Folder...:

  6. Copy and paste the following command in the dialog box ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/ :

  7. Drag the Main Profile folder to the Privacy tab:

  8. Once it's added, click on the folder then select the minus symbol to remove it

  9. Spotlight will then re-index the folder
